Winter Programs to Help Athletes Be Their Best
With Winter here, there’s never been a better time to be at The Foundry, rated one of the top volleyball facilities in the country. With 6 indoor courts, a performance training center, 4 new sand courts and a staff of over 40 coaches and trainers, we have all the ingredients for your success. In addition to our 28 club teams, we have a selection of Winter programs to help athletes of all ages develop their skills and love the game.
THE MISSION OF OUR VOLLEYBALL PROGRAMS:
We focus not only the technical side of the game but the physical and mental side too. With all of our programs, participants will learn new techniques, mechanics and game play.
Our coaches and trainers will be striving to push each athlete outside of their comfort zone to have an overall better game. Our goal is to have each player work hard, feel confident, have fun and leave a better player than when they came in.

Who leads the Setters Academy?
To build the first-ever Setters Academy in the region, we are excited to have none other than Katie Goldhahn. Coach Katie is the technical director for our 28 teams and head coach of Encore 15 Navy. A four-year setter for the Stanford Women’s Volleyball Team, she captained the Cardinals to the NCAA championship in 2004.

For All Levels: Beach Training
Sharpen Your Skills through Game Play Training
Skill Level: All levels
Cost: Costs will range based on level of commitment
Time Commitment: (Jan-Apr)
Location: Sand Training will be held at the Beach Village at The Foundry (2575 E Bayshore Rd)
Develop the most complete athlete for their desired level of performance in the sport by integrating the components of beach volleyball training and education, Sports Psychology, Nutrition and Strength and Conditioning.
We offer programs for girls and boys ages 8-18 and adults 18 and up. The juniors programs focus on preparing athletes for high school and collegiate play, as well as tournament play. The adult programs focus on preparing the adult athlete to compete at the professional and international level. Players will be grouped by age and skill level to ensure that the level of play is appropriate, in order to maximize performance at each practice.
Who leads the program?
Beach training for AVP Norcal at The Foundry will be led by AVP master instructors and AVP-certified beach coaches. The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) is recognized as the premier U.S. pro beach volleyball league and features the very best in elite professionals.
How do we get started?
Tryouts for beach will take place Saturday, Jan. 21 at The Foundry. Unlike the indoor process, beach tryouts are simply an opportunity for the coaches to group the athletes into appropriate training groups. Different levels of competition within the sport do exist and it is the coaches job to properly place the athlete where they will have the best opportunity to grow within the sport.
